I Want

Track #2 on the CD Join The Chorus

This song is a declaration of what I want. In reality, I don't always want these things - I wish I was more like Paul, who could honestly say "I want to share the fellowship of His suffering".

But even when in my heart I don't desire these things as I should, this is still the life I aspire to.

Listen to a short audio clip

I Want
I want my life to be a reflection of my Savior.
I want to see the world through Jesus' eyes.
I want to walk His paths of joy and suffering.
I want to die to sin and live in His righteousness.

I want to taste the power of His resurrected glory
I want to share the wealth of His suffering
I want to tell the world that He has hope and peace
I want the world to know that the love of Jesus is real.

I want to know that others see His love within me
I want each day to count for eternity
I want to take my cross and turn from selfishness
I want to know contentment and generosity.

I want my mind to be the mind of Christ my Savior
I want my thoughts to be in captivity
I want to turn away from pride and bitterness
I want to shout for joy and weep with those who weep.
