Morning Breaks
Track #5 on the CD Join The Chorus
On Easter morning, 2006, I checked my email and found that the Christian Quote Of The Day was this poem by
William Bengo Collyer - Morning Breaks Upon The Tomb.
My immediate response was to sit down with my guitar and write some music to go with it. Since the passing of our friend Tommy
in September of that year, I have found great consolation in these words.
Morning Breaks Upon The Tomb
Morning breaks upon the tomb,
Jesus scatters all its gloom.
Day of triumph through the skies--
See the glorious Savior rise.
Christians! Dry your flowing tears,
Chase those unbelieving fears;
Look on his deserted grave,
Doubt no more his power to save.
Ye who are of death afraid,
Triumph in the scattered shade:
Drive your anxious cares away,
See the place where Jesus lay.
For He is risen, Jesus lives!
He is risen, Jesus lives!
He is risen, Jesus lives!
Jesus is alive!

Jesus Our Immanuel
Immanuel means 'God With Us'. This song reminds us that even in the troubled times of life, we have Immanuel, who shares our griefs.

O God Our Help In Ages Past
Though time presses forward inexorably, God was our help in ages past, and our hope for eternal ages to come.
