Prayer For Healing
Track #7 on the CD Join The Chorus
This song was written as a prayer for many in my church who were suffering under great burdens and sorrows. It is exactly what the
title suggests - a prayer for healing.
Interesting note for musicians: the song is in 7/4 time. I didn't set out to write in that unusual time signature - it just happened!
Prayer For Healing
In the warmth of Your embrace hold me safely sheltered.
While the storms of life are raging hold me in Your tender hand.
Gathered here expectantly torn by hopes and fears
Troubled by our brokenness waiting for Your healing hand.
In the midst of striving, bitter words and conflict,
Let me lay aside myself and be filled with holy peace
May we be the instruments of Your peace and healing.
May our hearts and hands be open to pour out Your gifts of love.

Though time presses forward inexorably, God was our help in ages past, and our hope for eternal ages to come.

Our Great Savior
Five verses of a wonderful old hymn, with a slightly different melody. Saving, helping, keeping, He's forever loving. He is always with me to the end.
